We are looking for musicians, singers and anyone who would be interested in contributing on a weekly basis to SligoLIVE@3. We would also welcome any local schools who would like to provide stories, letters or poems.

Sligo BID has been awarded LEADER grant aid of €11,737 for “Meet in Sligo” a conferencing initiative and €43,651 for the upgrade of Sligo’s Christmas lights. Sligo BID has also provided the TÚS programme with some of its most varied and interesting placements in the last number of years.

Life Long Learning Case Studies

This Case Study demonstrates how easy it is for everyone, of all ages, to learn new digital skills in supportive friendly classes.

RSS and The Irish Wheelchair Association

Employment, Tús and RSS Case Studies

This Case Study highlights the skills and support participants on the Rural Social Scheme are able to provide to local charities and community groups.

Miners Way and Historical Trail

Rural Recreation Case Studies

Among the trails to benefit from considerable labour and expenditure in rural development is the long distance Miners Way and Historical Trail.

West Sligo Family Resource Centre

Employment, Tús and RSS Case Studies

West Sligo Family Resource Centre offer employment opportunities through Community Employment Programmes and TÚS.

Tubbercurry Family Resource Centre

Community Project Case Studies

Tubbercurry FRC is supported by LEADER with a grant of €34,068 to develop an outside space and a Multi-Usage Games area and by participants of the Rural Social Scheme.

Strandhill Community Park

Community Project Case Studies, Employment, Tús and RSS Case Studies

The Community Park was awarded €149,586 of LEADER aid in a bid to make the ark. This innovative proposal is to turn the park into Sligo’s first environmentally friendly green park by providing a rain harvesting and irrigation system. The project is also supported by RSS and TÚS.

Lough Easkey Looped Walk

Community Project Case Studies, Employment, Tús and RSS Case Studies, Rural Recreation Case Studies

The walk was developed and is maintained under the Walks Scheme which is managed by the Rural Recreation Officer. Maintenance works are undertaken by an RSS Walks task force.

Killaspugbrone Walk

The walk was developed and managed by the Rural Recreation Officer. Maintenance works are undertaken by an RSS Walks task force. The development of this walk was funded by the LEADER Programme.
