Main Purpose of Role: | The Community Connection Project (CCP) is a national initiative that will use community development approaches to understand the concerns of communities about immigration and help them to develop constructive responses. The Community Link Worker (CLW) will aim to strengthen the capacity of the community to work together with key voluntary and statutory organisations and structures with a focus on establishing facts, counteracting misinformation, engagement on community concerns and working to develop inclusive responses to migrant integration. They will also work closely as part of the SICAP team to support the integration activities within the programme. | ||

Conditions of Work: | The Community Link Worker will be required to work 35 hours a week. A probationary period of at least 6 months will apply. This is a Specified Purpose contract for 18 months and is co-funded by the CCP and SICAP programmes and subject to continued funding by the Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD). Main base will be Sligo LEADER Partnership Company.

Beidh sé mar aidhm ag an Oibrí Nasc Pobail (ONP) cumas an phobail a neartú chun oibriú le chéile le príomh-eagraíochtaí deonacha agus reachtúla, agus díriú ar fhíricí a bhunú, mífhaisnéis a bhréagnú, dul i ngleic le hábhair imní an phobail, agus freagairtí uilechuimsitheacha a fhorbairt i leith lánpháirtíochta imirceach. - Comhordú le baill foirne SICAP maidir le gníomhaíochtaí i gContae Shligigh agus iad a choinneáil ar an eolas faoi imeachtaí agus forbairtí leanúnacha
- Cinntiú go dtagraítear don Roinn Forbartha Tuaithe agus Pobail (DRCD) ar gach foilseachán agus ábhar bolscaireachta
- Cainéil chumarsáide rialta a chothabháil leis an bpobal áitiúil chun mífhaisnéis faoi inimirce a bhréagnú. D’fhéadfadh sé seo a bheith bainteach le haon fhaisnéis a chuirtear ar fáil do na Comhlachtaí Forbartha Áitiúla ó Ranna Rialtais i gcomhthéacs shuíomh ionad do Lucht Iarratais ar Chosaint Idirnáisiúnta. LAES team to provide services to long-term unemployed people | ||

Main Duties
- To provide one to one support and guidance to the unemployed to help them in their progression from unemployment to employment.
- To prepare a Personal Progression Plan for each client and identify the supports required for each client.
- To identify employment opportunities for the unemployed in the region and make your clients aware of the potential employment opportunity.
- To assist the clients with CV preparation and job seeking/interview skills & liaise directly with Employers and provide a job matching service.
- To maintain a database of clients/groups in the catchment area.
- To liaise directly with ETB, Solas, DSP and other public and private training providers and agencies.
- To manage your caseload efficiently and effectively in line with good governance and established company and funders, KPI’s procedures and guidelines.
- To participate in team meetings and provide oral and written reports when required
- To demonstrate a willingness to take on additional duties as and when required.
