Tubbercurry FRC is supported by LEADER with a grant of €34,068 to develop an outside space and a Multi-Usage Games area and by participants of the Rural Social Scheme.

Strandhill Community Park

The Community Park was awarded €149,586 of LEADER aid in a bid to make the ark. This innovative proposal is to turn the park into Sligo’s first environmentally friendly green park by providing a rain harvesting and irrigation system. The project is also supported by RSS and TÚS.

Lough Easkey Looped Walk

The walk was developed and is maintained under the Walks Scheme which is managed by the Rural Recreation Officer. Maintenance works are undertaken by an RSS Walks task force.

Killaspugbrone Walk

The walk was developed and managed by the Rural Recreation Officer. Maintenance works are undertaken by an RSS Walks task force. The development of this walk was funded by the LEADER Programme.

Keash Playground

Located beside the local National School, the playground services over 1000 children in this rural community and was developed by Keash Village Enhancement who were awarded €82,491 of LEADER aid towards the project.

Gurteen Playground

The playground was developed by Gurteen Games Company who were awarded €89,638 of LEADER aid towards the project.

Tubbercurry Christmas Lights

This project sees over €70,000 of investment into upgrading the electrics and purchase of new Christmas lights in order to give a sense of vibrancy and reflect good community spirit.

Ballisodare Astro

Ballisodare astro pitch and Sports complex are located in Young’s Quarry in Ballisodare. Ballisodare Astro Pitch was awarded €200,000 of LEADER aid and Ballisodare Sports Complex was awarded €138,058 of LEADER Aid.

Connacht GAA

Sligo LEADER Partnership were successful in making an application in conjunction with Connacht GAA to develop the world’s largest sports air dome in Bekan, Co. Mayo.

Eastern Harps

The club has been supported by 2 different awards of LEADER Grant aid; one of €200,000 towards the completion of the Club house and community space and another grant of €24,828 towards developing remote working and conferencing facilities in the building. The Club is also supported by the Rural Social Scheme.

Curry Moylough Playground

Coolaney Development

Coolaney Development Company was awarded €150,517 of LEADER aid towards their project to establish the first Community Café in Connacht and €195,112 to develop the community park. Coolaney village also benefits from both Rural Social Scheme and TÚS support to village maintenance, ensuring their award-winning status!

Waterpoint Enniscrone

The community owned and run Waterpoint in Enniscrone, was awarded LEADER aid of €138,430.00 to renovate their pool and changing areas. Waterpoint also offers a varied range of placement opportunities on the TUS and RSS Programmes.

Voya Seaweed Baths

Voya Seaweed Baths applied for LEADER funding to support the expansion of the ground floor premises and develop the upstairs section of this building. The expansion will assist in creating an additional 25 jobs.

Strand Campus

Strand Campus is an innovative enterprise space located in Strandhill, Co. Sligo. It offers SMEs access to office space, hot desk space, meeting space, a mail drop service and networking opportunities.

Loughan Stables

Loughan Stables were awarded LEADER grant aid to install an all-weather track to follow the existing cross-country fences.

Key Institute Indoor Arena

The Key Institute were awarded LEADER funding of €98,915.25 for the development of an elite junior sand arena to cater for 16-20 year old riders who already compete at 1.2m.

Kelly Fresh Foods

This LEADER-funded project was to move Kelly Fresh Foods Vegetable Processing line from a labour-intensive system to a more autonomous system that has higher volume capacity, while reducing the physical load on the workers.

Biz Kids – Young Entrepreneur Programme

A collaboration with Bank of Ireland that allows for the DEIS school to receive the opportunities that develop and widen the knowledge of their students in the ins and outs of designing, setting up and running a business idea.

IT Sligo and AbbVie Educational Programme

Sligo LEADER Partnership collaborate on a yearly basis with IT Sligo and AbbVie to encourage and promote STEM within DEIS schools in South West of Sligo.
