CLIFFONEY MEN’S SHED
Cliffoney Men’s Shed is located just off the main street in Cliffoney so it is very accessible. They also base themselves in the Old School House in Mullaghmore during the winter months where Carpentry and Wood-Turning take place. Cliffoney Men’s Shed is a hive of activity with over 30 members which were recruited by their Chairman Michael Kelly knocking door-to-door.
The Shed have a garden with a large polytunnel where a large selection of vegetables including cabbage, spring onions, broccoli, brussels sprouts, carrots, parsnips and tomatoes are grown.
This Autumn/Winter they will transform the Old School House by adding a computer suite with 5 workstations. Here members will learn basic computer skills such as setting up a work station and sending emails. They prefer a relaxed method of learning from each other rather than a teacher-student dynamic
The shed is brand new as was just set up in August of 2021. They meet 3 times a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. They also have a Walking Group and a Boules Group which meets every Saturday at 11 o’clock on the Green at the Old Schoolhouse. This is a very popular activity. Cards & Darts are also enjoyed by the Shed.
The Cliffoney Men’s Shed is open to all men and they encourage any potential shedders in the surrounding area to consider joining.
