Community Showcase Marks Milestone Celebration for Sligo LEADER Partnership Company
Hundreds Gather to Celebrate 30 Years of Sligo LEADER Partnership and 20 Years of the Rural Social Scheme
The Sligo LEADER Partnership Community Showcase, held as part of Local Development Week, was a tremendous success, with hundreds of attendees gathering at the Clayton Hotel, Sligo, to celebrate this milestone event. More than 40 exhibitors, representing Sligo LEADER programmes, local agencies, and community groups, showcased their initiatives, reinforcing the theme of the day: Collaboration.
The event highlighted the significant achievements of Sligo LEADER over the past 30 years. One of the most memorable moments was a special presentation made to Michael Quigley, one of the founders and former CEO of Sligo LEADER, in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the organisation’s success and growth.
20 Years of the Rural Social Scheme was also acknowledged, with the programme being celebrated for its crucial role in supporting local farmers and rural communities, as well as its continued impact on community life in Sligo.
John Feerick, CEO of Sligo LEADER Partnership, expressed his gratitude to all who attended and participated:
“This event truly captured the spirit of what Sligo LEADER stands for—community, collaboration, and progress. It’s an honour to celebrate these milestones with the people who make our work possible.”
