Expressions of Interest under the following Sub-theme are invited:
Community and Social Inclusion Groups are invited to submit an Expression of interest for Funding under the Rural Development Programme (LEADER) 2024-2027 Accessible Services Sub Theme.
Under the Accessible Service Sub Theme there is a requirement to ‘support access to services for rural dwellers and reduce the risk of social exclusion and rural isolation’. To support communities to provide and improve the accessibility to basis services for people living in rural and remote areas and for groups who are at risk of social exclusion, including hard to reach communities, such as older people, people with disabilities, new communities and other marginalised groups.
What is Eligible?
The call involves a competitive process which is intended to specifically target local community groups to support projects aimed at improving Accessible Services for those most at need, such as:
- Small scale developments such as upgrading of disability access to community facilities, community kitchens, lifts etc…
- Creating multi-functional spaces for community , including meeting spaces, intercultural facilities and spaces to facilitate improved access to services
- Upgrading accessibility of playgrounds e.g. sensory space
- Other projects improving accessibility
All EOI’s received will be assessed for eligibility in principle (against Sligo Local Development Strategy and Programme Operating Rules). An Applicant whose EOI is deemed eligible in principle will be invited to submit a full application for funding. Application packs, including guidance notes, will be issued and assistance provided with the application pack.

Those successful at this Expression of Interest (EOI) stage, will then be invited to submit a full application. Submission of Full Applications from those successful at EOI stage must be made 28th October 2024 for a December LAG Decision.
