Calming a Busy Mind
Sligo LEADER Partnership worked with John Graham, a transformational coach and speaker, to develop a series of 10 videos on ‘Calming a Busy Mind’.
By exploring your relationship with thoughts and emotions, using mindful and meditation practice, the sessions aim to help you to:
- Learn how to notice more peace and calm, no matter what’s happening in your life
- Let go of mind chatter
- Worry less
- Heal quicker
- Sleep better
The Calm a Busy Mind project was undertaken by Sligo Leader Partnership, in collaboration with John Graham of from John G Coaching, as part of our Education and Lifelong Learning supports under the SICAP programme.

Session 3: Our sensory experience
Learn how we experience the world through our senses.
Session 4: The nature of thought
Learn to understand the temporary nature of thought, the lack of control we have over what pops in our heads, the fact thoughts are always coming and going.
Session 5: Judgements: Common causes of a busy mind.
Learn the effect judging things as bad, wrong, worse, negative can have on us and how to use meditation to neutralise your thoughts and emotions.
Session 6: Resistance
Learn how to use meditation to allow experience just to happen and how this can help us deal with things we have to do in ‘life’.
Session 7: The illusion of past & future
Understand how thoughts of past and future can create a busy mind and how to overcome this.
Session 8: Breath meditations
Learn how breathing can be a useful point of reference when meditating.
Session 9: Body scan meditation
Session 10. Recap Meditation
The final video in the series pulls together all the key messages in our 10 part Calm a Busy Mind series.
