Sligo Business Improvement District CLG

The Sligo Business Improvement District (BID) is an initiative designed to increase the footfall to Sligo city centre, to attract more businesses and to secure a long-term sustainable model for the management of the town.

BID represents businesses in the BID area. Membership of the Sligo BID is designed to benefit all the business people in Sligo and every member has a say in its democratic governance. Making Sligo BID a success requires funding and a contribution from every member of the business community.

Sligo BID has been awarded LEADER grant aid of €11,737 for “Meet in Sligo” a conferencing initiative and €43,651 for the upgrade of Sligo’s Christmas lights.

Sligo BID has also provided the TÚS programme with some of its most varied and interesting placements in the last number of years. Events Management, Marketing, Research, Tourism, Book-keeping and Administration – and this is not an exhaustive list! Sligo BID works individually with participants to find a role that best suits their skills and interests and offers opportunities to develop these. Projects that Participants have worked on in this placement have included assisting the organisation of Sligo St Patrick’s Day Parade, the Cannonball Run coming to Sligo and Christmas in Sligo Town.
