Biz Kids – Young Entrepreneur Programme

Social Inclusion Case Studies

The Biz Kids – Young Entrepreneur Programme is run in partnership with Bank of Ireland.

The Biz Kids programme runs within DIES Primary School throughout County Sligo and is facilitated by staff members of Bank of Ireland.

The collaboration allows for the DEIS school to receive the opportunities that develop and widen the knowledge of their students in the ins and outs of designing, setting up and running a business idea.

The uptake of this programme is always positive and enjoyed hugely by the students. This type of programme broadens children’s ideas, abilities and capability of success in an area they are interested in.

The project is undertaken by Sligo Leader Partnership as part of our Social Inclusion supports under the SICAP programme.

IT Sligo and AbbVie Educational Programme

Social Inclusion Case Studies

Sligo LEADER Partnership collaborate on a yearly basis with IT Sligo and AbbVie to encourage and promote STEM within DEIS schools in South West of Sligo.

The collaboration has grown from strength to strength over the past few years, where students from 5th and 6th class partake in STEM shows, workshops and talks provided by IT Sligo and AbbVie.

Sligo LEADER Partnership promotes the festival within the schools, liaises with IT Sligo and AbbVie, organises venues and transport for schools to attend. The programme is a huge success.

The project is undertaken by Sligo Leader Partnership as part of our Social Inclusion supports under the SICAP programme.

Cranmore Easter Project

Social Inclusion Case Studies

Working alongside the Education Officer with Cranmore Regeneration, the Cranmore Easter Project provided a Maths and English Leaving Certificate revision course.

Sligo LEADER Partnership arranged and provided the revision classes for students attending Northside Community Project.

The likelihood of students attending Northside Community Project having the opportunity to attend revision classes was very low. Through the programme these young people  benefited from the opportunity to attend structured revision courses that  provided the best opportunity to the students when sitting their Leaving Cert.

The Cranmore Easter Project was undertaken by Sligo Leader Partnership, in collaboration with Cranmore Regeneration, as part of our Social Inclusion supports under the SICAP programme.
